Project Overview
MD Building Services (Maidstone) Ltd was appointed to deliver a major structural and hospitality redevelopment, transforming a previously unused flat roof into a fully operational, high-end rooftop bar for one of the area’s most prestigious nightclubs.
This project required extensive structural engineering, fire compliance, access reconfiguration, and a complete front-of-house fit-out, resulting in a visually striking rooftop entertainment space designed for premium commercial use.
The finished environment provides increased capacity, elevated customer experience, and a flagship feature that enhances the overall venue offering.
1. Structural Openings & Roof Penetrations
To enable rooftop access and create an entirely new customer space, our team delivered significant structural work, including:
- Cutting and forming large structural openings through the existing flat roof
- Installation of RSJs and engineered steel supports
- Full temporary works design & propping
- Strengthening of structural elements to support increased load
- Coordination with structural engineers and Building Control
These works allowed the seamless integration of circulation routes and a new staircase while ensuring total structural integrity.
2. New Staircase Construction
A major element of this project was the formation of a brand-new access staircase from the nightclub interior to the new rooftop bar.
Our works included:
- Formation of the structural opening for stair installation
- Construction of a fire-rated staircase enclosure
